Formation of Ministry of Communications

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology was an Indian government ministry. It was bifurcated into Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in July 2016. It contained three departments viz.Department of Telecommunications, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (Deity) and Department of Posts.

The following cadre controlling authority of the Civil Services (including Indian Telecommunication Service, Indian Postal Service, Indian Radio Regulatory Service, Telegraph Traffic Service and Indian Posts and Telegraphs Accounts and Finance Service) are under the administration and supervision of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Gmail to be stopped w.e.f. 01.09.2016 in India Post domain

This is regarding regularizing email communications between various levels in the Indiapost VPN network. Towards implementation of the Technology Policy, the following email policy is proposed to be adopted, from 1st September 2016.

1. Email from India post email ID to all other emails are to be allowed in the Indiapost VPN Network
2. Emails from any other emails to India post mail ID is to be allowed
3. Emails of all other email service providers like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail etc will not be allowed to open in India post VPN Network

Email IDS have been provided to all offices in the country.

• All official designations (Officers) up to Sub-Divisions have already been created and communicated
• Email IDs to offices in 10 Circles, up to Single handed SPMs completed
• Email IDs to all offices in Kerala, Rajasthan and Delhi circles would be circulated by 10thAugust 2016
• Email IDs to all offices in Maharashtra, Gujrat, Tamilnadu, Andhra pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Punjab Circle would be circulated by 15th August 2016.

Hence, all officials at all levels should be informed and educated to use India post email ID for all correspondences. The email communications between circles, regions, divisions and post offices including the system administrators should be strictly implemented to use India post mail IDs alone.

This may kindly be circulated to all concerned to prepare them for using Indiapost email, as access to all other mail services would be stopped from 1st September 2016 in our network.

Manoj Sinha takes over as new MOS (Independent charge) Ministry of Communications

Shri Manoj Sinha has assumed the charge of Minister of State(Independent charge), Ministry of Communications in Sanchar Bhawan today i.e. 06.07.2016. In addition, he is already holding the charge of Minister of State for Railways. Shri Manoj Sinha is a Member of Parliament from Gazipur Lok Sabha Constituency, Uttar Pradesh. He was re-elected to Lok Sabha (3rd Term) in May, 2014. Earlier he was elected to Lok Sabha in the year 1996 and 1999.

A civil engineering graduate from Institute of Technology, Kashi Hindu Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, Shri Manoj Sinha has been active in social and political fields right since his student days. He has extensively worked for the welfare of people in rural areas specially farflung and backward areas. During his parliamentary career, he has been Members of various Committees which include Member, Standing Committee on Energy and Member, Committee on Government Assurances.

He takes interest in sports like volleyball, kabaddi and special interest in agriculture.

PUNE, MAY 13:  Motorcycle finance company Bajaj Auto Finance has entered into an arrangement with post offices across India to enable buyers get information through brochures available at post offices, as well as apply for two-wheeler loans from the company.

Subsequently, customers can also make loan repayments by depositing money in post offices.

The project is being launched with Tamil Nadu as pilot/nodal office and the arrangement will initially be rolled out across 18 locations in the State, Bajaj Auto said in a statement.

Pradeep Srivastava, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto, said: “By joining up with India Post we intend to reach all our customers in the remotest corners of the country.”

Charles Lobo, Chief Postmaster General, TN Circle, India Post, said: “Bajaj has been one of the brands and names we have associated ourselves with for ages. We hope to take this initiative to great heights by delivering easy and convenient finance options to our customers through all our post offices.”

This arrangement shall initially be rolled out across the following 18 locations across Tamil Nadu
