Sale of Gold Coins thro POs for Diwali

In TN 189 POs will participate in this Diwali Season for Gold coin Sales from 12^th Oct 2010 to 31^st  Dec 10. Diwali Festive Offer available in the above dates, inclusive of both days.

There will be 2 types of promotions during the festive season:

• Festive Promotion                 -        Buy 10gm & get 0.5gm free

• Govt Employees Discount    -        6% discount

• Do note that both these promotions are EXCLUSIVE of each other & that both offers cannot be run Simultaneously. Which means- If the 6% discount is given to any Govt Employee, then the 0.5gm FREE offer does NOT apply even if the Govt Employee has purchased 10gms of Gold.

 Instruction to POs : 

During this festive season, the Post Office User will see 2 discount options on their computer - Festive Offer Discount & Government Employees Discount. You have to select the relevant discount option. Please go through the details of both the offers:

1. Festive Promotion in details:
Please note that a Customer can buy the Gold Coin in any of the following 2 combinations from the Post Office.

• 2 x 5gm                                     =        10gm          or
• 1 x 8gm +2 x 1gm                     =        10gm        

There are 3 Rules for Accounting of the FREE 0.5gm coin which needs to be strictly be adhered to

1. The FREE 0.5gm Gold coin should reflect in the Same Purchase Invoice of 10gms that is being created.

2. The cost of the 0.5gm Gold coin has to be Zero since it is FREE

3. The system stock and the physical stock at the Post Office has to tally at all time.

Keeping the above in mind please note that during the offer period, the Post Office has to Mandatorily follow the procedures laid below.

• Post Office has to input the desired quantity of gold being purchased by the customer and check if the quantity is totalling to 10gms
• If Yes, the post office has also to add 1 pc of 0.5gm in the same invoice (if the customer is buying 20gms then the PO has to add 2 pcs of 0.5gm gold coins in the invoice and so on.........)
• During invoice creation, to make the value of the 0.5gm Gold to ZERO, the Post office has to click on the discount icon and select "FESTIVE OFFER DISCOUNT"from the drop down.

The above 2 steps will ensure that the 0.5gm Gold being given FREE is accounted correctly and the Value of 0.5gm gold becomes ZERO (since its a FREE quantity).

Important =>

• In case the Post Office wishes to sell 0.5gms Gold coins Without this Offer to any customer, then they should NOT select the discount.

2. Government Employee Promotion in details :

If a customer is a State Govt employee or Cental Govt. employee then post office will select "GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT" option from the drop down while creating a invoice. This Discount can be availed on purchase of any denomination.

Please note that Government employees need to show their Government Photo Identity card as proof to avail 6% discount offer. Without the proof of the photo Identity card that government employee will not be able to avail the 6% discount.

Do Note that the Government Employee Discount of 6% can also be extended to Retired Government Employees.

Please find enclosed the PO Sales Incentives for the post office staff for the Diwali gold promotion---12^th Oct 2010 to 31^st  Dec 10.

The Minimum qualification for PO incentive is 200 gms

Incentives and Trophys will also be given to the top three Regions who sell maximum gold coins during the festival period – 1 gram gold coin each to CPMG, PMG and Director of the Region.
