Retirements

Yesterday, Shri.N.Ravi, APMG Rect, CO and Shri.P.L.Raghunathan, APMG PLI, CO Retired on Superannuation.

It is a great pleasure to participate by our CS on this Retirement occasion.
Association still remember the services rendered to the Association.

Pre-implementation of Rural ICT in BOs


      I.        The BO should have table to place the Handheld Device and for charging the device.

    II.        The electrical power connection is required to charge the Solar UPS wherever power is available. In the locations where electrical power is not available, the UPS will be charged from Solar Panel.

  III.        The locations where electrical power connection is there, it should have proper earthing and with one or two plug points along with on/off switch.

   IV.        The above site preparation is to be done before the roll out starts for the particular Division.

     V.        The data on BO such as the name of the BPM, contact details, address of the BO with land marks etc. may be updated and kept ready.

   VI.        The availability of the network connectivity (Vodafone/ BSNL / Airtel etc.) at the BO location may also accessed and the best signal available in the BO may be identified and kept in order to facilitate the Vendor with details to drive best out of the project. If the network signal is not available, we have to identify as Off-line BO.

 VII.        Similarly identification of the BOs where the solar UPS is not required due to installation problems of the solar panel or good power availability for more than 6 hours daily, has to be also done.

Chennai GPO becomes 1000th CBS PO - release of FDC on 1.12.2014


India Post has the largest Postal Savings Bank network in the world, with more than 31 crore live accounts and deposits exceeding Rs. Six lakh crores. Keeping pace with the technological changes in the banking field and to meet the expectations of the customers, India Post has undertaken a project for switching over to a Core Banking Solution (CBS) platform with a total project outlay of Rs. 800 crores. CBS will enable customers to do banking operations through computers, mobile phones and withdraw cash through ATMs. Money transfer from one account to another too will become easier and faster. Graemes Road PO, Chennai 600006 was the first CBS office in the country to go-live on 16.12.2013. The 228 year old Chennai GPO 600001 becomes the 1000th CBS office. It will go-live on Monday, 01.12.2014.

The project is implemented through Infosys, one of the Indian IT major whose CBS software 'FINACLE' is being used by a large number of commercial banks.

To mark this occasion, the Department will be releasing a Special Cover with Cancellation, which will be released at Chennai GPO on 01.12.2014. The sale price of this cover with cancellation is fixed at Rs. 15. Plain covers will be sold at Rs. 10 each. This will be available for sale at the venue and also at the Philatelic Bureau, Anna Road HPO. Subject:- Central Civil Services (Leave Travel Concession) Rules, 1988 — Relaxation to travel by private airlines to visit J&K.

The undersigned is directed to refer to this Ministry’s O.M. No.31011/3/2014- Estt.(A-1V) dated 26th September, 2014. It has been decided that the Government servants while availing Leave Travel Concession (LTC) to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) under the special dispensation scheme allowed by the aforesaid O.M. may also travel
by private airlines subject to the following conditions:-

(i) Officers entitled to travel by air may also travel by private airlines from their headquarters;

(ii) Officers not entitled to travel by air may be permitted to travel by private airlines between Delhi /Amritsar and any place in J&K.

2. Air travel by private airlines is to be performed in Economy Class only an at LTC- 80 fare of Air India or less.

3. Air Tickets to be purchased directly from the airlines (Booking counters, website of airlines) or by utilizing the service of Authorized Travel Agents viz. ‘M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company’, ‘M/s Ashok Travels & Tours’ and ‘IRCTC’ (to the extent IRCTC is
authorized as per DoPT’s O.M. No. 31011/6/2002-Estt.(A) dated 02.12.2009) while undertaking LTC journey. Booking of tickets through other agencies is not permitted.

4. All other conditions prescribed in this Ministry’s O.M. No. 31011/3/2014-Estt.(AIV) dated 26.09.2014 would continue to apply.

5. The order will remain in force for a period of one year from the date of issue of this order.

1 Hour In-house weekly training to all CG employees

An another important orders has been published by the Dopt regarding the 'In-house Weekly Training' for all Group of CG employees.

Department of Personnel & Training has started in-house weekly training for its employees which was inaugurated by the Additional Principal Secretary to PM on 9th October 2014. All officials from LDC up to Under Secretaries will be nominated in batches of 45-50 and the training will be conducted every Wednesday from 10.00 am to 11.00 am.

Accordingly, all Ministries/Department are requested to start hourly in-house weekly training for their employees up to Under Secretaries immediately. In case the Ministries/Departments require training module on a particular subject to be developed/ procured, they may either contact the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM), New Delhi or get it sourced through their own training institutes.
